This work honors a tree lost to Hurricane Helen in Western NC. Its growth rings were scanned and digitally enlarged to create molds, later cast in iron. The piece preserves the memory inscribed in the tree’s life, while reflecting on the fragility of our natural world and the environmental forces that shape—and sometimes destroy—the landscapes we share.
